UPDATED: SWFWMD Modified Phase III Water Shortage Order Extended to October 1, 2026

The Southwest Florida Water Management District Updated the Modified Phase III "Extreme" Water Shortage and has called for the associated water use restrictions. This includes all of Sumter County . The order was effective April 3, 2026 through July 1, 2026, but has been extended through October 1, 2026.
