Your LPWA water bill will be higher beginning March 1, 2025
A rate increase request was presented to the LPWA Board of Directors at the January 2025 board meeting. The water rate increase is needed to offset the cost increase to LPWA for many services and materials used during normal operation, and to cover additional operation costs due to regulatory changes and new rules implementation.
The Board approved an increase of $5.00 per account to the base rate fee for all water accounts. The Board also agreed to increase the overage rate to $0.40 per 100 gallons used, for accounts exceeding the base rate volumes. The previous overage rate was $0.35 per 100 gallons used. The new rates will take effect during the March 2025 billing cycles.
The LPWA board has not implemented a base rate increase in many years. Even with the changes, LPWA continues to have lower water rates than most surrounding systems.
